All Day All Night

"All day all night, until I skate no more. Know what I'm saying?"

In this new short documentary, All Day All Nightlegendary rapper Del the Funky Homosapien (Gorillaz, Deltron 3030, Hieroglyphics) wax poetics about skateboarding as an art form, drawing comparisons between skating and doing a trick to the way music is composed.

The video shows Del in São Paulo during a skateboarding session where he talks about his struggle to improve his flatground ollie and music. The film builds a parallel between his thoughts and the chaotic urban aesthetic of São Paulo, with a seriously rad editing technique that has contrasting frames atop and becoming embedded into one another. Those layered images came from the b-rolls of the upcoming documentary Concrete Poetry that narrates the birth of São Paulo underground hip-hop movement set to be realized in 2017.

Del dives deep into his thought process if trying different techniques to land a trick, and how he'd abandon everything in order to learn how to ollie. Watch the new doc directed by Del, himself, and Hooligans, below.
