Seems like there's a new trend going on with hip hop music videos. From Vince Staples' nearly 10-minute "Prima Donna" video and Kendrick Lamar's 2015 video for "These Walls", hip hop videos are going cinematic, and weaving more poignant narratives through their videos, instead of sticking with the beloved money, bitches, and cars aesthetic.
The new cinematic trend rings true with Southern rapper Runway Richy's brand new “Switchin Sides” short film featuring Gucci Mane. Directed by Philly Fly Boy, the action packed visual stars Runway Richy as he deals with some sketchy characters and calls upon Gucci Mane for some guidance.
“Switching Sides” is featured on Runway Richy’s upcoming China Cafeteria 2.5: House Special EP out on June 16th. Watch the new video below.
