Beach Fossils have dropped quite a few tracks in anticipation of their upcoming release of their third LP Somersault next month, including “This Year”, “Saint Ivy”, and “Down the Line”. The Brooklyn trio must be excited about their new sound, because they've shared two more new tracks, "Tangerine," and "Social Jetlag".
"Tangerine," which features Slowdive's Rachel Goswell — just stop and go listen to "40 Days" — is a tightly wound melody that boasts a wave of strings and an impeccable pairing of Goswell's voice with the band's breezy and plush aesthetic.
The cloudy, wistful “Social Jetlag,” bustles with samples of crowded streets, and features the type of candid, off-the-cuff lyrics that make the entire effort immediately illuminating. All five recent releases have helped to showcase their new, chamber-influenced style, which quite obviously demonstrates the band charting new music territory and a refined songwriting style.
