THE ZONE /zōn/ n.: A deep state of conscientiousness to which only few men discover.
Welcome to an alternate dimension, one where creativity and imagination are boundless, where the visceral attributes of life pale in comparison to the utter joy of experience in the moment. Where surfers entwine with their environment, to create, and express themselves, in a place called "THE ZONE". The Zone is a sacred slice of space and time that very few people get to experience... it is the synchronization of the speed of the wave and the speed of the wave rider that is achieved by placing ones self in the power source of a particular wave form.
It's also the name of filmmaker Jack Coleman's new surf film. Coleman has long been committed to capturing the style of surfing that we love to see. The new surf flick features a mixture of some of the most stylish and creatively-driven surfers on the planet including Alex Knost, Ozzie Wright, Rob Machado, Ryan Burch, Bryce Young, Rasta, Derek Hynd and more. Coleman does an absolutely incredible job of capturing the essence of post-modern surfing at its finest. He spends his life in the trenches, embedded in the lifestyle of an entire surfing side plot, uncovering surfers, music, and aspects of wave riding that can't be found elsewhere.
The Zone is a testimony of his efforts to stay off the grid and instead rely on his community - he was able to make this film thanks to a Kickstarter campaign - to show their support of his independence.
