Animator and MF Doom fan, Dus’ T, has taken it upon himself to animate an unofficial music video for one of DOOM’s most underrated tracks, perfectly highlighting why his style matches up with cartoony visuals. The new animated music video for MF Doom's 1999 track, “Gas Drawls,” off of Operation Doomsday, pulls inspiration from creatives like Jason Jegel, the artist that made the album cover for Mm.. Food, and Jeff Jank, the art director for Stones Throw Records, as well as all DOOM-related visuals from over the years, and has even received an approval from DOOM himself.
Originally released by Fondle ‘Em Records on April 20th, 1999, Operation Doomsday was the first solo project by Daniel Dumile under the new moniker, MF DOOM. In the past 15 years, the iconic album has seen many re-releases. In 2011, Doom began officially reissuing the album via Metal Face. That year, a new cover was made featuring art and design by Jagel and Jank. Both editions ofDoomsday are now being re-released on vinyl, each with 2/LPs in colors red and black and a 18 x 24-inch poster.
