Paid in Full is a hood classic; a young man from Harlem, forced to cope with the 1980s drug scene, builds an illegal empire, only to have a crisis of conscience. It's also now the inspiration for NxWorries’ new video for Yes Lawd! cut “Scared Money.”
The aesthetic is set in 1988 (notice the Shirt King Phade airbrush t-shirt cameo), as Anderson .Paak and producer Knxwledge visually reenact parts of the 2002 film, which apparently .Paak and Knx regard as their favorite movie. The video was shot by Los Angeles-based filmmaker and artist Calmatic, who has shot a range of music-related work for the likes of Kendrick Lamar, The Internet, Over Doz, and Syd.
The second half of the video, is followed by an epilogue that flips the track to tease containing a new remix of "Best One," produced by Knxwledge. The song will be part of a full-length Yes Lawd! remix album. Watch the video below.
