Marc Johnson is like a constant stream of creative ideas. He's constantly writing things down in notebooks that he filters through his unceasing brain. His creative flow is always on, and the ideas have filled stacks and stacks of books that now lay around his house. It's these ideas that eventually turn into projects like the 3-minute video for his recent adidas Matchcourt Mid colorway, and ambiguous board companies, like his newest endeavor Otherness.
The new board company popped up rather randomly as a nondescript Instagram page with pixelated and some blurry photos, and random hand-drawn illustrations of graphics concepts for boards. Now there's a pretty amazing photo of Marc in a black sheep onesie and photos of actual Otherness decks, but still not much. You can buy yourself an exclusive Otherness board at Black Sheep Skateboard Shop in North Carolina. From the looks of Black Sheep's Instagram, the board was made as collaboration between Otherness, Marc, and Black Sheep. The graphic pays homage to a classic Real Skateboards costume portrait series from the 90's by Bryce Kanights (with a nod to blind era Jason Lee). Supposedly Atiba Jefferson has something to do with this collab too. We'll just have to wait and see what comes from Otherness.
