Storm Riley is no joke. The East Coast has been getting ravaged by the nor'easter, which began tearing through the region last Friday evening, leaving a trail of destruction. Maryland, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and Virginia all declared states of emergency as the storm has ripped across the east.
Riley has also brought some of the most pumping swell the east coast has seen in years. While spots from Maine to Florida have shown moments of greatness, there's one particular wave in New Jersey that cranked for five days straight: Newmibia.
Rightfully named after the famous left-hander in Africa, Newmibia did a damn good job of impersonating the original. Four days after one of the most destructive nor'easters in decades, the surf is still pumping. The wave is a thick, double up reeling sandbar left. It ain't easy to ride, but it's spawning some of the longest barrels the east coast has seen...ever?
