https://youtu.be/Vv-8dNwmUbA Balaram Stack never imagined he would be a professional surfer. A baseball player, maybe a hockey player, but never a surfer. After watching his older brothers' work the waves in his hometown of Point Lookout - first standing up on a boogie board at age 3, and eventually inheriting one of his brother's old boards at 7 - Balaram has yet to stop surfing.
The waves in Long Beach, New York can be quite fickle, but Balaram can usually be found traveling and constantly chasing waves around the world. However his style and humble character link back to his New York roots and upbringing in the cold, variable swell.
Check out Balaram's latest edit, "State of Mind," with New Era, where he talks about catching the best waves of his life in Fiji during 4th of July, and the feeling he had when he scored a 10 at Volcom Pipe Pro, with all of his friends and family watching.
