Poliça - Lime Habit

Screen Shot 2015-11-16 at 11.52.02 AM The Minneapolis-based synthpop outfit Poliça has been touring for the past two straight years since the release of their acclaimed 2013 album ShulamithNow, during their first true break from touring everywhere from the UK to the stage at Austin City Limits, the band, which includes Channy Leaneagh, dual drummers, Drew Christopherson and Ben Ivascu and Chris Beirden on bass with producer Ryan Olson at the helm, has collectively written a new album, United Crushers, due out March 4th from Mom + Pop.

The album marks the group’s third overall, and was recorded down by the Mexican border at El Paso, TX’s Sonic Ranch Studios. According to the album announcement on the band’s website, the new record explores themes that are “heavily political and deeply personal with thick references to social injustice, self-doubt and isolation, the rapidly increasing urban decline in gentrification, overcoming music industry machinations, and finding true and honest love in the wake of it all.”

The first taste we're getting of the record is a thumping synth jam called "Lime Habit."  Leaneagh's hauntingly crisp vocals sear through the track's loungey beat as she coo's lyrics that are deeply self-reflective and dairy like. Watch the new colorful music video for "Lime Habit" below.
