A high school basketball player, a gorilla mascot named Trevor, and a confident teenage girl in command of her own sexual fantasies personify Tame Impala's psych-leaning pop song "The Less I Know The Better," in the new hallucinatory music video the band released.
Directed by CANADA, “The Less I Know The Better” follows the story of a high school basketball player whose crush leaves him for his team's gorilla mascot named Trevor, ultimately centering around the fact that homie just can’t deal with the fact that she has discovered all of the new possibilities of teenage sexual awakening.
The track is very much a break-up song with all the jealousy intact of seeing your ex moving on, which CANADA translates with a gang of trippy animated visuals that evoke love-sick doodles that you'd most likely see in a high school math notebook. The video which fits the hopeful yet melancholic vibe Tame Impala lays down in “The Less I Know The Better,” is the latest track to emerge from the third studio album Currents.
