We're coming up on the release date for Temples’ sophomore album, Volcano, out March 3rd via Fat Possum. The band is keeping our attention pointed at the upcoming release with a new video for second single, “Strange or Be Forgotten.”
The video, starring the band and various performance artists, is directed by James Beale, and deals with odinary or extraordinary. Bassist Tom Walmsley explains the concept further in an statement: “Art is always on trial, so we wanted to interrogate some of the finest performing artists around. Playing the role of society, despondent and disinterested, we try and capture the un-capturable - the human spirit.”
The new album comes three years following the band's sixties-inspired debut Sun Structures, which included their breakout hit "Shelter Song." Hailing from Kettering, England, the band also includes bassist Tom Walmsley, keyboardist and guitarist Adam Smith, and drummer Samuel Toms. On Volcano, the quartet maintains its rock influences (think Pink Floyd, the Byrds, the Beatles), but with a more progressive sound.
