Warbly Jets frontman Samuel Shea loves Los Angeles, but isn't too stoked on the 60s psych resurgence that's been going down for a handful of years.
His and Warbly Jets' goal has always been to blend their influences from the past with today’s technology, instead of just recreating the jangly guitar music that was perfected by countless bands five decades ago. This hasn’t necessarily given them the most obvious fast track to success, but they've never really given a shit about being a scene band when they moved to LA from New York anyway.
Warbly Jets is good old rock ‘n’ roll that's not muddled up with tons of elements of differing genres. They’re intent on their sound and refuse to be like “a lot of bands that are hung up on what used to be."
Comprised of frontman and guitarist Shea, Julien O’neill, Dan Gerband on bass, and Justin Goings on drums, Warbly Jets have been seeping into the local LA scene for quite some time now, and will continue their seepage opening for indie legends The Dandy Warhols in December. But for now, watch the video for their debut single “Alive” below.
