Watching Mish Barber-Way effortlessly command attention on stage is quite possibly one of the best parts of seeing White Lung live. The punk band, which kicked off their U.S. tour in Los Angeles on Friday at the Teragram Ballroom, always delivers a high-energy set of their theatrical garage punk that inevitably gets the crowd well into it.
Since the release of their new album, Paradise, the band has been riding a wave of rave reviews, with some saying it's one of the most compelling rock albums of the year. We'd have to agree. The slightly cleaner, but just as aggressive new direction on Paradise works so well and keeps the band from repeating itself. The show, which also included sets from Plague Vendor and High Functioning Flesh, was absolutely killer.
