In September Dr. Dog joined forces with Philly's Pig Iron Theatre Company to design and build out a special stage that transformed Union Transfer; they called the four night performance 'Swamp Is On'. Dr. Dog rattled off four shows in four nights, and each stood as a unique concert that tuned in rare recordings, unreleased music, and sounds from seemingly other dimension.
One of those recordings was the band's brand new song titled "Badvertise". The psychedelic tune is accompanied by a trippy music video that plays out like a 80s infomercial on acid, and is somewhat inspired by the 'Swamp Is On' collaboration with Pig Iron performers and designers who assembled a unique ‘handmade’ live video feed that provides visual translations of Dr. Dog’s songs and soundscapes.
The indie rockers, who’ve played only a handful of gigs this year, and have a long-running tour set up for 2016, recall all the weird sleaziness of era of excess in this new video. Check it out below.
