New York post-punks Parquet Courts put out one of the best albums of the year so far with their recent LP Human Performance, and now they've unveiled a new video for its heartbreak-heavy title track.
The video, conceived and directed by English visual artist Phil Collins features puppet versions of the band rocking out while a middle-aged marionette couple goes through the trials of romance: orgies, spankings after a card game, and other regular chill and freaky stuff like that.
Collins had this to say in the press release about the video: "I was thinking about the track and how it paints a breakup both elliptically and with such devastating directness. And I wondered what it would be like if this drama was enacted not through naturalism or authenticity but through its partners in crime, doubling and artificiality. So puppets seemed an obvious choice."
Human Performance is the band's third album and dropped back in April on Rough Trade Records. Watch the video below and catch them on tour in August.
