Editor's note: After reading the back-handed comments from Ethan Kath about Alice Glass when she decided to leave the band late last year, stating that she made no contributions to Crystal Castles' most well-known songs (and we know that shit isn't true), it's a little hard for us to write this piece. But we're giving the new Crystal Castles a chance. And after listening to the duo's latest release, we're only half happy that we did (it just isn't the same without Alice).
Last week Canadian electronic duo Crystal Castles released the a new single called “Concrete,” and now have shared a brand new dizzying video for the new song. The intense track is jam-packed with throbbing bass and features Crystal Castles' new singer Edith Frances, who replaced original vocalist Alice Glass last year after Glass left the band, aggressively snaking and pushing her way through an immense chaotic concert crowd at a music festival.
“Concrete” is the second single off of Crystal Castles’ upcoming LP, rumored to be titled Amnesty (I). The track follows the release of a teaser of the yet-to-be-released song “Femen.” The album is set for an August 19th release and follows the group’s successful third album, III.
