Pixies have shared their new video for "Tenement Song," the first video off the band's upcoming LP Head Carrier out September 30th. The Krank! Collective-directed video, offers a twisted animated take inside a soon-to-be-demolished apartment building.
The new video employs a range of animation techniques including old school light box, painted animation, rotoscoping and digital compositing, and takes its influence from the song's lyrics and Vaughan Oliver's album artwork. "The Tenement Song" bounces from room to room, from a gang of ghouls playing poker with internal organs as their antes to a swingy Sixties party. The video ends with the building exploding into rubble as its former tenants watch.
Head Carrier, is the band’s sixth full-length record to date and follow-up to 2014’s reunion LP, Indie Cindy. Ahead of the album’s late September release, Frank Black and co. have dropped three teaser tracks: “Um Chagga Lagga”, “Talent”, and “Tenement Song”,
